The main ways to get around the French Riviera are using the tram and taking the train!

To get from Nice Côte d'Azur Airport to Nice-Ville, you can take the tram 2. A one-way tram ticket costs €1.50 while buying a ticket that can be used 10 times costs €10. You can have one 10-use ticket that can be used by multiple people. These tickets can also be used on the buses that go through Nice, and it also has unlimited transfers on trams/buses within 74 minutes for one-way. When you get on the tram or bus, be sure to insert your ticket in the reader and insert it again before you get off to “clock out.” I got one 10-use ticket for my mom and me to use for our 5 days in Côte d'Azur. We used it to get to Nice-Ville from the airport, from Nice-Ville to Vauban bus station, Vauban bus station to Eze, and from Nice-Ville to the airport.

To go between the cities in the French Riviera, there are trains that are super easy to use! You can simply go to the nearest train station and purchase a one-way ticket for €3-5 from the kiosk. Trains should run through each station 1-3 times an hour depending on the time of the day. I used the train to go between Nice-Ville and Antibes, as well as Eze to Monaco and Monaco to Nice-Ville. The train can take you to other cities like Menton and Cannes.

In terms of getting around the area using public transportation, I would recommend downloading the Citymapper app as it is free and helps you navigate to your destination super easily. You would choose the location you want to go to and they would show all the potential public transportation routes near you (tram, train, bus, walking, etc.), the times they depart, and how long to expect for the commute. It also acts as a map so it will help you navigate and check where you’re going as well.
